Meet Our Members

Scott Malone

I My name Is Scott Malone. I have a Sport Pilot License for PPC’s and have over 250 hours flying a PPC or Powered Parachute. I have always wanted to fly gliders or Sail Planes and so looking around I found AHSC and became a member. Ron Hanks is an amazing instructor and I am loving learning this new skill of flying a glider. I will solo this year and complete my license requirements. Hey, I am 71, Who said you can’t teach an old dog new tricks.

R.G. “Ron” Hanks

I started the Aero Head Soaring Club in 2020 along with several other members who all pitched in to buy the Pawnee tow plane and 2 Schweizer gliders. Our intent was to provide a relaxed and fun flying atmosphere along with the ability to offer rides for those wanting the unique experience of "silent flight". Ontario has proven to be an excellent location and we enjoy continued support from friends in the local chapter of Experimental Aircraft Association and the Ontario City Airport Manager.  I think AHSC activity will only continue to grow and add valuable service to the community.
